Things I have learnt this week . . .

1. More exercise = need more food

There’s nothing like getting the head spins from too many sit ups and at the start of this new routine I had packed SOME extra food but not enough. By lunch time I was ready to eat anything in front of me. Thank goodness for friends who have healthy snacks at their desk.

2. Have more faith in my cooking

Part of the above mission statement is this stupid idea that I’d start digesting vegetables – not that I live off meat or anything, but normally I operate with some kind of idea of what I’m going to do with my ingredients. Most people call this a “recipe” but not for me, not today. This may sound brave and adventurous (or just plain stupid) but I figured that it was vegetables, where could I go wrong? I didn’t! I some how managed to throw coriander, ginger, garlic and spinach into a pot with a whole heap of vegetables (carrots, red capsicum, yellow capsicum, baby corn, mushrooms, broccoli and celery – yeah, more than the daily vegetable requirements right there) and come out with some kind of delicious easy to make stir fry that took about five minutes to make. It was a big win

3. Patience is not my strong point.

Okay so I want to move into my music room now but that’s not the only thing, I hate talking to machines. Doesn’t everyone? I swear it makes me want to commit acts of violence, especially when they say something like “tell me in a few words how we can help you” I feel like saying “be a real person!”

4. People look at you weird when you pull out a practice pad at a train station.

If you just have drum sticks, they don’t. I can’t drum on the train because it’s peak hour, but I can spend the time waiting for the train drumming and given the public transport system that we have – that can be quite a lengthy amount of practice time.

And now I’m off folks. Today’s song is Red Headed Woman. Enjoy.
